The Sunday Edit: July 9th – 15th

My first celeb sighting, irresponsible purchases and a feature on a major company’s Instagram. . .

This week is a blur, if I’m honest.  Lots & lots of exciting and/or embarrassing things happened that I just need to tell you about.

First thing’s first.

I launched a new website

Well, same website – new look.  If you haven’t checked out the new digs, have a little look around.  I also posted two new posts last week!

a few “pinch me” moments

The first offense.

I posted this summer-y overalls look to my Instagram and was featured on RTR’s Facebook and Instagram this week.  Maybe not a big deal to most, but HUGE to me since I’ve loved the company for so long.

It happened again.

As I was finishing this post up, I found myself in an Ad on Shopstyle for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I started crying because I’m right next to one of my favorite bloggers.

Side note: I’m not mentioning these moments to brag.  I’m just using these Sunday posts as a sort of “public journal” so I can look back on weeks like this.

old theater, Tennessee

i had my first casual celeb sighting

Mom and I spent our Saturday in the Nashville/Franklin area.  I popped into The Cosmetic Market for a look-around, and literally right before my eyes: Jessie James Decker and her sister at the BareMinerals counter.  DEEP BREATHS.  I hope my jaw didn’t drop as low as I think it did.  Some of you may know her as a country music singer married to now-Titans-player Eric Decker, but I used to watch her and Eric’s reality TV show on E! every Sunday in middle school.  It actually felt like an out-of-body experience for me.

No. I didn’t go up to her.  That’s the cool thing about Nashville – the stars just live among you.  I could tell she was having some “me-time” at the makeup counter, and I think we can all relate to that!  So, I let her be, stood right in front of her and acted like I wasn’t completely freaking out.  Ohhh, what a day!

Irresponsible purchases

Okay people, I had a moment (or two) this week.

I bought the wrong laptop.

About that. . . Four days after clicking Buy Now, I realized I bought the laptop meant to be removed from my cart instead of my originally intended choice.  FACE. PALM.  It’s still a great computer, so I’m taking it as a sign.  But can we please all just take a moment to shake our heads furiously [korra_icon icon=”checkmark-circle”] at me for lacking attention to detail [korra_icon icon=”checkmark-circle”] and at computer companies for having too many options.

Chanel, Toe Cap

I also bought the wrong shoe size (on purpose).

I’m that crazy person that buys the wrong size in a shoe on sale because it’s the only one left.  Exhibit A: these new Chanel look-alike slingbacks.  A whole size too small, but they were also 70% off soooo. . . What’s a girl to do??

Want a similar pair?  THESE from Sam Edelman are a yes from me.

These New Season Pre-Fall Looks. . . All On Sale Through August 6!

Well, there’s a little re-cap of my week and a few pieces I have my eye on.  Hope you’ve had an amazing week.  Here’s to the new one!

XOXOXO, ZO
