Oops! I picked up a few things during the Sephora sale…
It’s been a minute since I spent money on anything from the beauty department. Though my high school self would be shocked, I don’t really feel the need to have a million products. My beauty routine was a whopping 40 minutes in the dawn of my adolescence. Now I give myself maybe five minutes to primp – an extra two if a cute boy is involved. (Let’s be honest, though. He never is.) For me it’s all about a little concealer, bushy brows, bronzer, and maybe a little frizz serum for my now mermaid-length hair (thank you, Covid).
I’m lax on makeup but have always loved slathering layers potions on my cheeks each morning and night. Yet in the wake of moving abroad (then getting shipped back home), my skincare routine had reduced to a bare minimum. Like, generic version of Cetaphil lax.
So in the midst of a self-pity induced shopping rampage this month, the Sephora sale reeled me in. I picked up my two favorite face masks from Laneige and Summer Fridays. After doing the deep dive into my CeraVe face lotion one too many times, it was time to buy a new face cream. The Peptide Moisturizer from The Inkey List won that hard fought (not really) battle. It’s supposed to be similar to one by Drunk Elephant, but it’s only $14.99. And lastly, even though I am holding onto the remnants of my kiddie pool glow from this summer, it’ll fade soon now that I am back at school. So I grabbed the elixir of life – aka Isle of Paradise’s tanning water.
If you’re also in need of a little self-soothing (self care!!!), Sephora’s sale lasts until August 23rd. So I guess this is me giving you permission.
