So we may technically still have over a month until Autumn comes to town, but I’m personally finding it increasingly difficult not to pray for the speedy arrival cooler temps and falling leaves. I know, I know, “Don’t wish time away, Zoe.” Let me clarify; I am simply wishing away the horrid August humidity and general stickiness- not the month itself. In all my longing for a change of season, I have come up with a way to curb the pain:
Ladies and few gents, I give you: Pre- Fall Fashion.
This is a time when those of us who live on Pumpkin Spice lattes and chunky sweaters ease our way back into full-force fall style. It’s like the Nicotine patch for those addicted to fall, if you will. Except you aren’t ridding yourself of the addiction; you’re embracing it, so maybe that was a bad example. OK, moving on…
Here are some tips:
1. Keep at least one of your sets of limbs exposed. Meaning if you cover yourself head-to-toe in black sweaters, black coated jeans, black booties and a -you guessed it- black leather jacket, I’m sorry sweetie; you are in for a hot one. It’s not in the lower 50s yet, so let’s not act like it. Balance your look.
2. Keeping on-theme with balancing your look, try incorporating items from your summer wardrobe into your look. Example: I wore my favorite black strappy sandals, but I made them pre-fall acceptable by pairing them with mom jeans and a dark, textured high-neck top.
3. ACCESSORIES. Seriously, this is the easiest way to ease the transition. Adding luxe, dark-hued bags, shoes, scarfs, etc. is my go-to way to incorporate fall.
Hope you gained a little inspiration or maybe some piece of mind knowing you are not alone in your need for Autumn. All the love…
XoXo,
Zo
