These days, the ol’ saying reigns true: “Pics, or it didn’t happen.”
Given my impeccably poor memory, I guess I’m glad I held onto this mindset while in Thailand. Where I may fail at journaling important life moments, you can always count on me to get the pic. These days, the ol’ saying reigns true: “Pics, or it didn’t happen.”

These images are from our stay on Railay in the final days of our Thailand adventure. Railay is a peninsula in the Krabi region but may as well be an island since it’s only accessed via boat. The seclusion, dreamy weather, and movie-like cliffs make it the ultimate destination for steamy lovers (or two ex-roomate photographers traveling through the country hoping to get! that! content!). When not dodging couples walking hand-in-hand along the gorgeous beaches, we indulged in free three-course breakfasts (you’re the realest, Railay Bay Resort), took a 5-Island Long Boat tour (the best thing of my life), and floated with jellies in the Andaman Sea. Try as we might, there was zero night scene here. Granted, it was the off-season. But despite my best efforts, I remained a 20-year-old grandma in bed by 9 p.m. – even in one of the most exotic places on Earth. . . at least I’m consistent.
Anyways, my Thailand dream really did happen, and I really do have the pics to prove it. Maybe one day I’ll look back at these as an *actual* grandma in bed at 9 p.m. and think about my 20th summer and all the adventure it brought.
