1. Divide a 4-inch section of hair from one side of your head into three pieces.
2. Begin braiding vertically downward, gathering small pieces of hair to create a french braid without connecting it to your scalp.
Notice how Macy is gathering more hair from the bottom layer and the back of her head. This is what creates the “lace” effect.
3. Tie with a hair elastic and loosen the braid.
Styling
Style your new hair-do on its own or with a floppy hat!
Special thanks to Macy for lending her hair and smile to the blog… While taking the styling pictures, we developed a new hashtag based on the day’s events: #DOITFORTHEBLOG. As you might assume, shooting in the woods means lots and lots of cuts and bruises. We both walked away from this one with battle wounds. #WORTHIT
Hopefully you enjoyed this little hair tutorial! This braid is super versatile, so be sure to try it out for school, hanging out with friends, or HECK! even prom… Why not?
Much love.
