Cream Pops and Culottes

If you caught my “5 Trends to Try Before Summer Slips Away” post a few weeks ago, then you’ll know I’ve already professed my love for cropped flares and culottes. I did this, however, before actually full-on trying the look out for myself. I’ll go ahead and admit, I don’t think everyone will love this almost “man-repelling” style of denim. . .

Well friends, I’m not here to teach you how to get an instant butt lift or show you some new shaping denim which squeezes your thighs into suffocation.

I’m here to state my case for the most comfortable pair of jeans in the world.

Just so we’re on the same page. . .

I bought the exact same pair of jeans in another color.

Guilty as charged, I suppose.

I just didn’t want to see a future without these jeans by my side (or on my legs?). This style from GAP is seriously beyond what I could hope for in a pair of denim crops. I think they are more comfortable than half of my sweatpants.

Let’s talk style.

Now, I think you get the picture: I like these pants. But I need to convince you why you should be rushing to get a pair for yourself.

Versatility is a big component when buying a new pair of jeans, especially if you want to get the wear out of them. What I love about cropped culottes is their ability to be dressed up, down or somewhere in the grey. Pair with killer heels for a night out or simple sandals for a more casual vibe. I chose something in between with these adorable block heels from the Who What Wear collection at Target.

Longevity is another factor one might consider. Are these just a trendy piece of denim I’m going to hate in a few seasons? Maybe. But here’s my defense. A: I got these jeans on sale for less than $20 (uhh. . .need I say more?). B: Trends are constantly coming in and out of style. I chose to take up stock in this one. Even if the mass market never really catches on, that’s the beauty about having your own individual style. If a trend speaks to you, go for it.
