Hi and welcome to my room! I’ve wanted to share this space with you all for a while, but lacked the motivation to “clean” it. You see, I am indeed a teenage girl who suffers severely from laziness. Another example of my laziness: I decided to shoot and edit all of these photos using my iPhone. It has just been one of those days, ya know? But hey! Maybe we can just forget I mentioned that and view my iPhone-blogging as a new sort of chill vibe I’m going for. . .
My Bed
Because my bed is the main piece of furniture in my room, I kept everything from my duvet to my headboard white. This makes my room feel much bigger as the bed is less distracting. Still the headboard, which my mom and I scored at an outlet, remains a focal point that adds character to the space.
Wall Art
I D.I.Y.’d all of the art work seen in my room. I just found a jackpot of old frames and filled them with prints, paintings, or pictures. It was the cheapest way for me to add personality to my otherwise dull walls.
My Vanity
To be honest, I don’t think I will ever be pleased with this area of my room. I find it absolutely impossible to keep organized. Using jars to store my brushes and hair products has helped a lot, but just the thought of organizing my makeup sends shivers up my spine. For now, it’s kept away from the human eye in the drawers of my vanity and the additional storage cube system that I assembled all by myself (crows gasps).
Storage
I use boxes for everything. They are the perfect way for me too stow away the random knick-knacks that would normally float about my room.
I currently have two jewelry stands and one bust for my bling-y things, but my collection has grown and these means of storage are quickly becoming out-dated. . .need to make this my next project.
My Closet
Ahhhh…my happy place. I spent my entire summer decking this thing out. I wanted to create a space where I felt inspired and free to create what I love. Obviously, I ruined its neatness three days later, but we don’t have to talk about that. We can just observe the one corner of it that still remains in tact. Bahaha. (;
For my wall of pictures, I strung wire onto Command hooks which I had glued some fake flowers onto. Then, I printed out some of my favorite pictures and simply hung them up!
Hope you enjoyed peeping into a few corners of my room. It’s funny how now a few parts of my room are magazine-ready and the rest still looks like a tornado came through (my mom’s joke, not mine). Lol. Also, I hope the lower quality images weren’t too much of a bother. I don’t plan on making this a habit, but figured I’d give it a go. Happy decorating!
