When I was 15, all I could think about was starting a fashion blog. Blogging wasn’t much of an industry back then. I just wanted to create a space where I could express myself.
In my “real” life, I’ve always been the analytical one. The serious one. The one who cares a little too much about studying. But not on my blog.
In March of 2014, I hit publish on a new layer of my identity – one where I allowed myself to feel authentic, creative, and even a little silly from time to time.
I miss the girl in these pictures. She bought a website, and named it XoXo, Zo, she taught herself to edit, to write, to code, and she tip-toed out of the house every Friday after school because she was too embarrassed for her parents to see her taking pictures of ridiculous outfits in the backyard. On those afternoons at golden hour, she found pieces of herself that she never knew existed. Passions that she never knew existed.
These days, it’s hard to be that 15-year-old who dreamed of starting something new. I hope to find her again in 2019.
XOXOXO, Zo
