My Summer Uniform

Do you have a summer uniform?

Maybe it’s a sundress and wedges, a crop top and high-waisted denim. . .maybe it’s a look straight out of the Lululemon catalog. Most of us are drawn to a certain type of outfit when our minds are in auto-pilot. For the past four summers, I’ve repeatedly flocked to an easy striped t-shirt paired with drawstring shorts. There’s nothing special to it, but for some reason this summer uniform has stuck.

Here is my thought process:

A striped tee, while chic, also offers an optical illusion – hiding the appearance of sweat. Important on days when you might literally catch fire if your feet move too swiftly on the sidewalk.

Drawstring shorts – an elevated alternative to denim – forgive me gracefully for my random afternoon McFlurrys and the like.

I’m all-in for a killer strapped, harnessed, buttoned and zipped look on most days, but sometimes simple does it when you’re bopping around in 90-something degrees.
