I’ve become obsessed with overalls over the past few weeks; they are the perfect summer staple. However, I’ve not been so obsessed with the steep price tag that the cute (and classy) ones were flaunting. Obviously, there are some cheaper alternatives, but nothing seemed to have “it”. . . “God bless thrift stores!” is all I have to say.
I snagged this denim overall skort (yes, skort) for a little under $8 at my local Goodwill. It was in good shape, but let’s be honest, it looked like the 90’s had puked on it.
However, there is absolutely nothing that studs cannot fix as far as I’m concerned. I picked up these studs and a pair of tiny jewelry pliers from Jo-Ann’s which cost me about $10 after coupons.
Next, I chose the areas I wanted to trim with the studs.
This was a fairly simple process, but if you’re a perfectionist, make sure to take your time. I ended up starting over a few times to get my studs aligned to my liking. The project cost me about $18- quite a difference from what a pair at the department store would cost. In the pictures below, you’ll see the (almost) final product. Eventually I will be adding lace to the hem, but for right now, I’m pleased with the look I achieved.

Just a friendly warning:
You may feel a sudden need to run around, build sand castles, and dance like a little kid in these. I speak from experience. Happy thrifting! <3
