Back-to-School Trilogy: Style Inspiration

August 10, 2014Uncategorized

Well, this took me long enough. . . Here the my final piece in my back-to-school series.  This was incredibly hard to film and edit by myself for some reason, but four tries and numerous headaches later, here it is!  I think the main thing to keep in mind when shopping for back-to-school is staying true to yourself.  Don’t waste money on pieces that you’ll never wear again.  For my style stripped shirts, blazers, and statement necklaces are worth-while “investments” (not actual apply-for-a-loan investments, but you know what I mean).  Instead, you might want to go for oxfords, a cable knit sweater, and high-waisted jeans.  Before shopping, look at your closet and think about what additions would help amp up your look for the new school year.  Everyone’s answers will be different, so there is no specific guideline to follow.  Here are a few of my choices for this season:

Style

Backpack: Levi’s

Graphic T-Shirt: Target
Pants: H&M (seen in all three looks)
Shoes: Indigo by Clarks
Necklace: H&M (still in stores)

Shirt: H&M
Shoes: Reebok
Necklace: Altar’d State

Shirt: Calvin Klien Jeans
Blazer: H&M
Booties: Steve Madden
Necklace: Altar’d State

Supplies

1.  I much prefer taking notes in spiral notebooks over loose-leaf paper.  It keeps all of the information together so I wont lose it, and it just feels right, ya know?

2.  An accordion folder is absolutely perfect for keeping up with homework.  Just label each slot according to your classes.  It keeps it all in one place,  so you’ll never miss a deadline again!

3.  Tissues, lipgloss, mechanical pencil (and lead!), cute highlighters, and post-its are all very important things to have.  You can keep this in your purse, but it’s best to have these items accessible.  Try keeping them in a pencil pouch or makeup bag to make your life a little easier.

Below are a few of my suggestions for you to keep handy in your backpack for touch-ups throughout the day.

Pencil Pouch: Office Max
Moisturizer: First Aid Beauty
Lipbalm: EOS
Pressed Powder: Marc Jacobs

Hopefully you will gain a little inspiration from this post! Clothing should reflect your personality… let it shine through this year! (: Happy shopping!
