Well, hello again! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve last written to you all. . .
Today I thought I would share with you all a few tips on how to style those tricky pieces of clothing that you haven’t even bothered to look at since buying. I don’t know if that is actually a common thing that you people experience, but I seem to always buy pieces that I think will be awesomely unique additions to my wardrobe. . . and then struggle to actually wear ever them. So maybe this doesn’t happen to you, but we all have a few items in our closets that aren’t seeing enough wear-time.
TIPS
TIPS
1. Think about color. And pattern. Would you rather this piece be an eye-catching statement, or should it be toned down in a monochromatic look? As you can see, I kept the base of my look in the same color family since I felt like this skort’s pleats were making enough of a statement.
2. Look at the shape. An easy rule to remember is to let either your top or your bottoms be slouchy, while the other remains structured. Now I’m not saying this is always the rule, but if you are struggling to figure out how to wear a piece of clothing, give this tip a try. So maybe you always feel frumpy when sporting your loose boyfriend jeans. . . By adding a fitted shirt or bodysuit (’cause you can find those everywhere in stores right now) and perhaps even a casual blazer up top, you tone down that frump and replace it with fab! I feel like that ended on a corny note, so let’s move on and pretend it never happened. LOL
3. Pull it all together with accessories. I think a good way to ensure that your look won’t be too busy is to match your shoes to your bag. A lot of people seem to overlook handbags when they are getting ready everyday, but when you choose a bag with the right color and shape, it truly ties the whole look together. I’m not going to lie though; I hate switching purses. So I usually just end up wearing the “wrong” purse when I’m in a rush. But if you have a little extra time and something just isn’t working with your outfit, try a different handbag!
HINT HINT: I just uploaded an entire video dedicated to accessories if you need a little inspo. Just keep scrolling to the bottom for a link (:

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I’ve formatted the post to feel a little more editorial- maybe more like a magazine? HA! I don’t really know how to describe it, but I quite like the way they turned out. Have a lovely weekend, everyone!
